With the Fair Media Council as my client for PR 107, I was offered the opportunity to volunteer at the New York media's Folio Awards. The awards ceremony was very interesting and provided me and my peers with an amazing networking opportunity. Some of New York's biggest media buffs were all in the same room as us! A classmate and I were given the task of greeters, which was interesting because we were able to welcome every media member to the country club.
The networking opportunities continued as we sat with members of Long Island pr firms and prestigious Manhattanites. The actual awards were presented to networks, anchors and reporters that delivered the most interesting investigative and feature reports.

Im glad you had a great experience at the Folio Awards. I wish i was able to attend, unfortunately I had be in the city that day. Im glad that the client we worked for put on such a great show and culminated our semester with a great even. networking truly is key for our field, im glad your expereince gave you a greta opportunity. I hope you met some good people.
ReplyDeleteThe experience was awesome, I can't believe we got to hear such a great speaker. It was also interesting to see from a event planning aspect because it is such a different type of event than the ones I am use to planning.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you were able to attend the awards! It seems like it was not only fun and interesting, but also a great networking day. Networking opportunities like this that aren't forced always seem so much more beneficial. I'm sure you were able to make a lot of great connections!
